GoPro HERO 3 video capture modes trial for super slow motion

This video I play around with GoPro HERO3 video capture settings to get the best option for my slow motion footage using the power director 11 suite.  This is my first time really getting stuck in to the diffrerent settings and what they can do to enhance my video productions. This was pretty easy to do following the GoPro user manual, I am pretty excited about what I can do when really utilising all that is on offer in the new GoPro HERO3.

I have used the following video capture settings to get the results in the video…and set the speed on all 3 to the lowest possible in power director 11 editing suite.  I only used the 4k setting as a bit of a comparison from each end of the scale.

Video Resolution/FPS/ GpPro user manual recommendations

  •  4k /12 / stunning 8MP resolution video with professional low light performance. Pull 8MP stills from video. recommended for tripod or fixed position shots
  • 720p /100 / Good for handheld shots and when slow motion is desired
  • WVGA /240 / Good when super slow motion is desired and standard definition is acceptable
