2012 Cambridge to Hamilton Kayak race

Today I joined Barracuda kayaks owner Gordon Robinson &  headed down to Hamilton to enter the 23km kayak race… this year we entered the double sea kayak section in the Barracuda Adventure Racing Duo (A R Duo) .. we also had on board the latest configuration Beachcomber ultralight sea kayaks  for the single sea kayak category prize

Every year Beachcomber owners  enter this race in good numbers and always recording some of the fastest times for this hotly contested category… this year to show their support barracuda Kayaks offered a spot prize of a brand new Beachcomber ultralight as a trade in for the lucky winners old Beachcomber…all Beachcomber entries were placed in a hat, for event organizer Richard (of the Boat Shed Cafe) to draw a winner at the end of the race…

The lucky winner was Hamilton resident Dave Harris (pictured below) who was wrapped to swap his 2 year old Beachcomber for the new Silverado Beachcomber… Dave actually has 2 Beachcombers, one for himself and the other for his wife, they are moving to Auckland shortly and are looking forward to spending the summer cruising the Auckland waterways in there Beachcombers…

My wife and I both absolutely love the Beachcomber sea kayaks, great product thanks Barracuda kayaks… Dave Harris, Hamilton, NZ

Gordon & I won the the double sea kayak section in the A R Duo posting a very quick time… Here are some photos I took  at today’s Cambridge to Hamilton race…to find out more about the event and to see the full race results visit here – The Boat Shed Cafe
